37 LGA 1150 socket motherboard tested
The intel chipset Family 8 Series “Lynx Point”, accompanying the fourth generation Core microprocessors “Haswell”, consists of chipsets: Z87, H87 and B85, chipsets basically it is the same chipset, which you have disabled some features according to the range of prices at which it is intended.
Although some motherboard manufacturers like ASRock and ECS found a way to enable some features intentionally disabled Intel H87 and B85 chipsets, and anyway many would be interested to know the performance of these different variants of the lynx point chipset.
From Hardware.Info comes a very interesting review where they compare no less than 37 motherboards based on the Intel Z87, H87 and B85, manufactured by the 4 largest manufacturers of industrial motherboards: ASUS, Gigabyte, ASRock, and MSI.
Without further ado, here are some of their test:
The differences between the performance of the Z87 chipset, H87 and B85 are very marginal keeping to the models from the same manufacturer, which is not surprising, since several generations of chipsets, these have been reduced to a mere southbridge (now called Platform Controller Hub “PCH” by Intel), being the most important functions integrated in the microprocessor itself.
We recommend reviewing the full review Hardware.Info.
