A year after the floods, reopens Toshiba chip plant in Thailand
A year ago, looked stricken Thailand floods and thus several different manufacturers plant parts such as hard drives or chips in general. The recovery has been somewhat slow, especially for Toshiba who just reopen one of its plants most affected by the natural disaster.
From November 1, resumed making chips for smartphones and tablets that had been completely disrupted after the catastrophe. Pathumthani plant was finally cleaned, dried, repaired and Wednesday came the first shipment of products manufactured within the facility.
Repairs should not greatly affect the finances of Toshiba, since everything was paid for by the insurance involved. This closes the chapter for Toshiba and for general hardware manufacturadoras, although in the case of those who made the problems hard drives would be nothing more than an excuse to raise prices .
