Advantage ASRock H87 chipset bug to unlock your ability to overclock
ASRock, the third largest motherboard manufacturer in the industry for many years has been characterized by its “excess innovation” motherboards presenting different ranges, some with features and specifications that are out for much of the ordinary.
ASRock is always surprising, because in its H87 performance fatal1ty motherboard offers features that are unique to intel as their expensive high end Z87 chipset, as the ability to overclock Core i7/i5 microprocessors K Series “Haswell -DT “.
As we discussed in Tom’s Hardware, ASRock took advantage of a bug present in the Intel H87 chipset, through which could enable complete overclocking capabilities of this chipset, moddearlo may in some way to a more expensive brand and Z87 ( H87 @ Z87), allowing users to save some USD $ in order to acquire an Intel Unlocked “K Series”.
Exploiting this bug, ASRock created the option: “Non-Z OC”, which allows to increase the operating frequency of the CPU, accessing the unlocked multiplier K Series microprocessors, enabling overclock a motherboard whose chipset does not officially support overclock.
ASRock Good job!
