Amazon introduced the Kindle Paperwhite, will cost USD $ 119

today unveiled the revamped version of its e-book reader, dubbed “Kindle Paperwhite”, whose screen is white as a sheet of paper. It allows a better definition, is 212 PPI and delivers 25% more contrast.

The touch screen is with resolution of 1024 X 768 capacitive type, and includes lighting for reading at night. The same intensity can be adjusted from a special menu, and also allows you to change the font sources.

The team seems to Touch but measures 9.1 mm thick, “thinner than a magazine”, and have a battery life of eight weeks, said the CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos. It will be available from October 1 in the U.S. for $119, while the 3G version will cost $179 USD.

As for the interface, included a “cover mode” that serves as home screen, showing what we have in the library. The device also includes content analysis system X-Ray, which also exists in the Kindle Touch.

The company also renewed its traditional Kindle,  the price of $ 79 to USD $ 69. The only changes from the previous version are new sources and sharper text. The device will be available in the U.S. since 14 September.
