AMD announces new FirePro professional graphics card W9000
A couple of days ago amd launched its professional video card FirePro W600 , the first video card targeted at users of graphics-intensive applications for workstations based on the architecture-based GPUs Graphics Core AMD Next. But the FirePro W600 is not the only professional video card based on the Core Graphics architecture Next, and since AMD already announced their new FirePro W9000.
The video card AMD FirePro professional W9000 is based on the AMD gpu Tahiti XT2 which has 2048 shader processors running at a frequency of 1GHz, and will be equipped with 6GB of GDDR5 memory with 384-bit bus. Like the Radeon HD 7970 will double slot cooling.
Thanks to its slightly higher frequency, the W9000 will have power FirePro spreadsheet calculations 4TFlops in single precision (SP) and calculations 1TFlop in double precision (DP), slightly higher than figures 3.788TFlops 0.947TFlops SP and the DP Radeon HD 7970.
In addition to the FirePro W9000, AMD FirePro shows a dual-GPU monster based on two GPUs tahiti XT (AMD combination called New Zealand), which incorporates probably 6 or 12GB of graphics memory. This dual-GPU FirePro cooling system has a dual slot cooled by three fans. Unfortunately not have many details of that product.
AMD also plans other FirePro GPUs based on the core Pitcairn (the same used in GPUs AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series), which are referred FirePro FirePro W8000 and S8000.
