AMD FirePro W9000 and W8000 tested with professional applications and games

A few hours ago AMD launched their new FirePro graphics cards W9000, W8000, W7000 and W5000 , all based on the Core Graphics architecture Next (GCN), the same used in the family of Radeon HD 7000 Series GPUs “Soutern Islands”. And within hours of its release we finally have the first review of them thanks to Tom’s Hardware.

The Tom’s Hardware bring us a very complete analysis of video cards W9000 and W8000 FirePro, two more graphics power exponents of the new line of FirePro cards based on AMD’s Core Graphics architecture Next.

The analysis used a computer with the following settings:

  • Two AMD Opteron processor 4284.
  • Asus Motherboard KCMA-D8.
  • Kingston Memory 32GB DDR3-1333 ECC.
  • V200 480GB SSD Kinhston.
  • Two HDD 1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue.
  • Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.
  • AMD FirePro drivers 8.982.3.

Without further ado here some of the test:
