AMD launches Catalyst Legacy Drivers 12.6 for Windows 8
In late April of this year, AMD moved to legacy mode (legacy) support their DirectX 10 GPUs (Radeon HD 2000/3000/4000), and from that date for such GPUs released drivers Catalyst 6.12 WHQL Legacy . Today amd makes available to users the new Legacy Catalyst 12.6 for Windows 8 (no WHQL).
The new Legacy Catalyst Drivers 12.6 for Windows 8 are based on the Windows Display driver Model Driver Model (WDDM) 1.1, the same one used in Windows 7, but also supported by Windows 8. AMD does not provide information on what changes or improvements have these new drivers, merely reported that support OpenCL GPGPU computing API in Windows 8 (the driver that comes with Windows 8 does not support OpenCL).
The driver supports the full range of AMD Radeon hd 2000 GPUs, Radeon hd 3000 and Radeon hd 4000 Series in Windows 8 operating systems in their editions of 32 and 64 bits and can be downloaded from this link .amd, Catalyst, controller, driver, hd 2000, hd 3000, hd 4000, Legacy, Radeon, Windows 8
