AMD launches new drivers, profiles and graphical utilities
amd last month changed its pattern of release of drivers leaving their monthly releases to focus on the quality of their drivers, and the change from the development team graphics drivers from AMD has been working at a frenetic pace and today we delivered the first drivers developed under its new policy.
AMD Catalyst 6.12 WHQL
As promised AMD, the new drivers AMD Catalyst 6.12 WHQL drivers are the first AMD focused solely on their GPUs DirectX 11 (Radeon HD 5000 and 6000 Series) and DirectX 11.1 (Radeon HD 7000 Series), and users of DirectX 10 GPUs (Radeon HD 2000 Series) and DirectX 10.1 (Radeon HD 3000 and 4000 Series) shall wait for the future Legacy Catalyst 12.7 or 12.8.
AMD claims to have designed these new drivers focused on stability, so in theory does not offer performance improvements over the previous 12.4WHQL Catalyst drivers, but if you solve many bugs found in the previous version. Although not offer performance improvements, the Catalyst 6.12 WHQL add new profiles for games in DirectX 9 mode settings to their Dual Graphics (CrossFireX hybrid between a low-end GPU and the IGP of the APU).
AMD Catalyst 7.12 Beta
Set of drivers designed to increase the graphics performance of DirectX 11 GPUs and 11.1. According to AMD the performance improvements are substantial:
