AMD will more frequently and PowerTune Boost your GPU Radeon HD 7950

A few months ago we learned that plans to release a new known as Tahiti Pro2 , which will probably come under the trade name of hd 7950 Edition GHz, GPU operating at a frequency slightly higher than the 800MHz of the Radeon HD 7950 traditional.

Although unknown whether these rumors will come true, AMD will launch this week a vbios update, which will provide the GPU Radeon HD 7950 for greater frequency (850MHz) and Boost technology (950MHz), so models reference began to be sold with this new VBIOS installed. In the absence of any physical changes, or price, AMD will this new VBIOS available to the video card manufacturers, which probably launched as an upgrade for current owners of Radeon HD 7950 GPUs.

The new VBIOS can be downloaded from the website of Rage3D , but I would recommend users to wait for the version published by the manufacturer of your video card.

The PC Perspective did some tests to a reference video card with the new VBIOS, and thanks to him are achieved performance increases of between 5 to 20% depending on the game tested.
