Apple inks deal with TSMC

For several years, is rumored to be in negotiations to stage subcontract their chips to , the rumors were not met at the time, but they finally become reality.

As reported by Digitimes, Apple has signed an with TSMC, to subcontract the production of its A-Series chips for a period of at least three years using the advanced process, TSMC and 10nm.

Apple is expected to begin producing in his first small volume samples A-Series chips from next month in December to begin mass production of chips based on the 20nm manufacturing process at TSMC , which as confirmed by TSMC be ready for those dates.

The first 20nm chips will Apple manufactured the Apple SoC, which will be launched during the first six months of 2014, and later launch future 16nm SoC fabricated A9/A9X late next year or early 2015.

It remains unclear whether this agreement, Apple will stop making chips in Samsung, or plan to sub-contract production of their chips at both companies to increase their volume chip production.
