ARM is already thinking about 20nm chips next year
The arm architecture is taking almost all the portable devices market, gained importance as a basic platform for devices sold every month more and more. This is why we are rushing to develop new technologies and even though we are just entering the era of processors based on ARM Cortex-A15 to 28nm, the design company is already thinking about the future.
Because according to them notified by the end of 2013 should appear the first chips made under a 20nm process, which is associated with higher performance, lower power consumption and less heat dissipation. The idea is to stay under the Cortex-A15 architecture, which has huge development potential and could be implemented solutions for 20nm quad-core and dual-core when this project is carried out.
It remains for us to see the 20nm, of course, but the promise is made. By the time necessary to see that someone besides Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 with its between the area of 28nm.
