Brazil makes the first 4K TV transmission in Latin America

To celebrate the start of Amazonas 3 satellite operations, Media Networks and Telefonica Audiovisual Services (TSA) conducted by Hispasat the first broadcast in Latin America ultra-high definition (UHD) or 4K. The signal was generated in Madrid, Spain, and played in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on a screen of 84 inches.

Implies resolution 3840 x 2160 , and is expected to become the next standard for television. Loles del Campillo, TV Product Manager Media Networks, explained that he expects the first computers that support 4K signals enter the pay TV market in the second half of 2014. Now, no details on how much would delay TV companies start offering 4K signals.

Considering that many still do not even have access to HD, the massive arrival of 4K is still far, but transmissions like this are a first step.
