Chrome became the world’s most widely used browser, according to StatCounter
While Chrome and stood with the most used browser in several Latin American countries , this week Google’s browser was tiptoe into first place in the world, surpassing Internet Explorer that had the domain for years.
The upward momentum of Chrome is giving just South America and Asia, while Europe and Africa Firefox remains the most popular, and Oceania and North America Wins Internet Explorer.
The case of South America is truly remarkable, where Chrome has almost 50% share, well above any other competitor. In Asia however, Chrome reaches 34% share, compared to 33% of IE. While in India Google’s browser is the most popular in China has 72% IE.
There is no clear explanation as to what motivated the popularity of Chrome in South America, but has always been a region of the browser user . On the other hand, remember that this is a measure of StatCounter. According to NetMarketShare , IE is still the most popular by far, followed by Firefox, then Chrome.
