Crucial launches SSD line for old equipment with something on top

Currently, different companies are dedicated to launch next generation, reaching transfer speeds around 500MB/seg, however, the company understood that not everyone requires this kind of performance, and to this end v4 set to launch the product, which is targeted for use on computers “having a couple of years old.”

Because these devices bring to 3Gbps SATA II connectivity, unlike the SATA III 6Gbps currently prevailing, delivering speeds of 230 MB/sec read and 190 MB/sec in writing, so if it is less than what we are accustomed, give a big jerk in performance for machines currently used hard disks, reaching speeds of approximately 100MB/sec 90MB/seg or where good.

Obviously, this is associated with a lower price, which is the ultimate goal to launch the series with these characteristics. Because there are models of 32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB, with the following settings according to capacity:

  • V4 Crucial 32GB: $50
  • Crucial 64GB v4: USD $70
  • V4 Crucial 128GB: $100
  • V4 Crucial 256GB: $190
