CTX2012: New GIGABYTE motherboards FM2
With the launch of trinity in the portable platform, the arrival of these new APUs the desktop segment is imminent, computex 2012 is the appropriate occasion to do, so let’s start with the parade by GIGABYTE.
The first line is the F2A85X-UP4 equipped with VRM phases of the highest quality including ferrite core coils with high current MOSFET driver IR3550-PowIRstage that allow 8-phase dedicated to APU. In both reports supported can reach DDR3 2400 MHz overclock, of course, in addition to what will provide the FCH A85 – 2 PCI-Express x16 operating at x8 when both are used, 4 PCI-Express x1, one PCI- Express x16 x4 has electrical connections – and the almost forgotten PCI. Furthermore, the ports are SATA and counted 6Gbps 8, where one of them is eSATA rear panel.
With regard to integrated peripherals, we have 6 USB 3.0 -2 through an adapter and 4 on the rear panel – video outputs D-Sub, DVI, HDMI and Display Port, supporting up to 3 monitors Eyefinity and also includes compatibility with LucidLogix VirtuMVP.
The F2A55-DS3 is equipped with the a55 FCH and was intended for a segment that spend less money but you still need to have an ATX sized motherboard, but in this case thin.
Among the specifications we have 6 phase VRM for the APU, only two memory slots for DDR3, but with the same support DDR3-2400 MHz through overclocking and PCI-Express x16, 4 PCI-Express x1 and two PCI. As for the integrated peripherals have 6 SATA 3 Gbps ports and the only video output HDMI port.
The strangest thing about this motherboard is that it includes an RS-232, also known as COM port. A rarity, but hey, there must be some reason in this decision.
Finally we have the most economical of all those submitted, a F2A55M-DS2, a micro-ATX motherboard that features 3 +2 phase VRM for the APU, two slots for DDR3-2400 MHz memory, a PCI-Express x16, one PCI-Express x1 and one PCI. Within the expansion ports out video output D-Sub.
During the course of these days we will be seeing more and more motherboards compatible with this new socket, so stay tuned for more news on the already initiated Computex 2012 .
