Dec. 21: 5 useful items to survive the end of the world
In FayerWayer not believe that on December 21 the world ends. Maya culture experts have repeatedly dismissed and no scientific reason to believe that a catastrophe will happen. However, given the interest shown date, we decided to explore some scenarios and discussions so interesting world in the coming days.
Everyone has a different conception of what will be the end of the world. I personally prefer to go with a zombie invasion, but some think will happen by the third world war, nuclear winter, extreme weather shocks, by an alien invasion, finally, everyone is free to imagine whatever you want. In virtually any of these cases, however, there are objects that can become indispensable technology for survival.
A solar charger: The first and most difficult is to find energy (besides food) grid eventually will fail and you will not have as recharging your phone – or whatever. A solar charger will provide enough electricity to at least have a small laptop running for a few minutes and charge your mobile, that is, assuming you have to call.
A lamp / radio auto-loadable: Sure have seen those little lamps with radio am / fm sold in any store and usually no one takes seriously, for good, this object will be essential for survival. Imagine you’re in the woods or the city but there is no light, you need to see where you’re going and you can not make noise to keep the zombies / aliens / survivors of the nuclear age realize your presence. Additionally, the radio lets you listen to emergency broadcasts.
A truly rugged laptop use: My recommendation, a Panasonic Toughbook. Think about it for a moment, you’ll have to walk a lot, sure once a week you will be chased by something / someone, you fall on your stuff, you the steal, the recover, the let fall at least twice a month, etc.. You need a laptop that you can survive and not die trying.
Wristwatch: Need a good watch, one with compass, which is resistant to shock, water, you can dip a few meters, and above all, you do not need a battery change. A good choice is the Casio Pro Trek watches. They have digital compass, altimeter, barometer, thermometer (very important), resists up to 100 feet underwater, has 5 alarms, LED light to see better in the dark, an incredible schedule with exact dates to year 2099 and the best, The battery is charged by solar energy.
An electric bike: If you’re going to be fighting for our lives, visiting cities and towns, we do not walk and if we have learned anything the Walking Dead is that the roads will be saturated or broken car eventually be run out of petrol. My suggestion for this scenario would be, for example, the Sanyo Eneloop electric bike. Its electric motor makes the trip easier, helps you not to lose speed on steep slopes and to stop charging the battery a little bicycle.
Do not forget that it is also important to bear other objects as a Survival knife or machete, water purifier, a crossbow (so you can retrieve the arrows used and not make noise) and a large backpack and rugged outdoor footwear and Caterpillar type flares.
