Demonoid disappeared after massive DDoS attack

was the victim for several days under a massive distributed denial of service (DDoS), which has left him inaccessible for more than a week.

At first the site displayed a message saying “server busy”, but then began to show a 404 error. The worst is that now, if you enter the main site will be redirected to a network that serves ads malware to visitors. It is unclear whether the latter is a result of the or if there is something else going on. Some wonder if this represents the end of Demonoid.

Demonoid is one of the largest and oldest sites, not only indexed, but has its own tracker. not the first time the site goes away for a long period of time, but anyway this time things seem be more severe. While there have been attempts to contact the administrator of the site by various means, has not yet got any response.

It is believed that the attack began on July 25 at night, and has not identified those responsible. On the other hand, TorrentFreak suggests that there are rumors that Demonoid staff members have been questioned by authorities about his involvement in the site.

They also refer to an IFPI report that details “strategic actions” against Demonoid – would be curious to use something illegal as a DDoS against him, but you can not rule anything out. It should also be considered after the closing MegaUpload , pressure on file-sharing sites has escalated enormously and some sites even decided to close by themselves .

Is it the end of Demonoid? For now you can do but wait and see if it gives any sign of life.
