Doom creator claims that AMD beats Nvidia graphics cards to provide better drivers

For many years, the graphics card market has seen two major contenders: and AMD. At first, Nvidia offered more powerful hardware at a higher price, while gamers focused on low budget, offering different packages.

But today, both AMD graphics cards like Nvidia are very tight, at least as stated by the famous programmer and creator John Carmack , who spoke on Twitter about the old rivalry. However, Nvidia is better than AMD, according to Carmack, as the software and Nvidia cards have consistently outperformed AMD’s offerings.

“At the hardware level, AMD is usually as good or better than Nvidia, but Nvidia drivers are consistently higher,” he wrote on Twitter .

AMD is expected to take the fact that your hardware is powering the next generation consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, to improve the performance of their graphics cards, to be forced to invest more effort in optimizing their drivers.

Many of you might not agree with Carmack, at least in part, but the truth is that while AMD seems to offer better performance per dollar than Nvidia, we can not deny the fact that optimizing your drivers heel has always been its Achilles. AMD takes a long time to deliver your drivers with minimal bugs. Nvidia on the other hand, tends to sometimes have problems with their drivers, but tends to solve them faster than AMD.
