Double leg amputee run in the Olympics
Oscar Pistorius began fighting for a chance to run in the Olympics for years, with the intention to participate in the event held in Beijing in 2008. Is your problem? It has no legs – that is, part of your legs are artificial.
After competing in the Daegu World Championships last year , the South African sprinter will run in the 4 X 400 meter relay at the 2012 London Olympics, and also in the 400 meters.
The South African Olympic Committee decided at the last minute to include Pistorius on your computer, making him the first amputee athlete to run in the Olympics and Paralympics the same year. This is a milestone, of course, raises the question whether his new legs would be an advantage or disadvantage for regular runners.
They have raised concerns on this issue and also about the safety of the other athletes, possible injuries that may occur when they get together all in the first lane. No doubt his participation will be focus of attention during the event.
