Engineer key chip design leaves Samsung and Apple will
Amid all the competition and the legal battle that is taking place these days between Apple and Samsung, there are people within those companies that are willing to declare allegiance to the rival (for the respective payment ends meet, obviously). And that’s how a Chip Design engineer Samsung vacates his desk and goes into the ranks of Apple.
Jim Megard is already an industry veteran. Before Samsung, was in AMD and was responsible for the development of an early version of the Fusion chip (Brazos), introduced in early 2011. After his adventure in AMD, ended up in the South Korean giant, and that is why we are struck by the recent switch to Apple: three major firms within a relatively bounded.
While no one knows exactly what will Apple plans to Megard, some analysts believe that his extensive knowledge and experience we could serve the Cupertino company for the future of desktop technology. Beyond that, it is also an important signal for Apple to recruit top-level executives (and their competition) to strengthen its division dedicated to the design of their products coming chips.
