Facebook to buy and send real gifts to friends in the United States

Facebook to buy and send real gifts to friends in the United States

is debuting a new feature that allows social network users to send from your profile. It is not virtual gifts, but real things, being the company’s first foray into this area.

Facebook allows users to choose from a list of gifts, from partner companies, and send them to your friends. Once you learn that a friend sent him something, get a virtual card where you can enter your own information delivery, and make modifications Size (when it comes to clothes) or other changes to the gift.

Once done, the gift will be sent to the recipient’s home. The sender can choose whether to share publicly that sent a gift via Facebook. You can also choose to pay immediately or once the friend has entered the shipping information. If the person does not accept the gift in two weeks, the money is returned.

The system is only available for users in the United States. Facebook seems to have learned from past mistakes in the field of sales – after things like Beacon or “Deals”, projects that were canceled – and the system to send gifts is quite respectful.

Of course, there are some things to consider, such as the quality and type of gifts that can be delivered in this way, and can generate confidence that people pay through Facebook. Deliver the credit card number and addresses of our homes is not a minor issue, which adds to the amount of data that the network already has on us.
