Firefox Happy 8 years!

On November 9, 2004 , Mozilla launched a new called Firefox. Today marks eight years, a long time for the speed at which things change on the Internet.

“We had the audacity to believe that we could change things. We believed that a community of people who understood the power of the web, and put people over profits, could build something amazing, “wrote Johnathan Nightingale, vice president of engineering for Firefox.

Undoubtedly, the browser did change things in your time, giving an alternative to Internet Explorer monopoly and growing every year in its users.

“Today, on the of 8, we are proud to say that our mission has not changed, but the Web itself. These days, hundreds of millions of people rely on Firefox for their lives online and drive your friends and family to do the same. Still we put people first, and with the support of the fans of Firefox, the Web urge towards openness and interoperability, “says Nightingale.

Competition for Firefox has been tough in recent times, especially with the emergence of Google Chrome in 2008.
