Follow live over Asteroid 1998 QE2

The asteroid 1998 QE2 passes relatively close right now – about 5.8 million miles – from Earth, an opportunity that many astronomers are taking advantage to further investigate this object about 2.7 miles long, it even has its own Moon.

reported today observing this companion moon, which measures about 600 meters in diameter and revolves around the 1998 QE2.

The 1998 QE2 will not happen again this close to Earth in at least 200 years.
