Foxconn denies reports of a new strike at its plant
Yesterday was made public a report by China Labor Watch , which indicated that a new workers’ strike was taking place at the foxconn plant in Zhengzhou, China. According to that report, the high demands and quality standards imposed by Apple to assemble the iPhone 5 were not liked by the workers, especially the pressure are undergoing and the lack of readiness.
But apparently the strike would not be such. According to official voices of Foxconn, “any report on a workers’ strike is not necessary” because there has been so far no arrests in the production of the plant and everything goes according to the time scheduled. That does not mean that there was no problem in recent days, as it is recognized that on 1 and 2 October arrests itself had small staff, but the situation was treated immediately and even went extra staff support for lines affected.
The truth is that beyond the official denial from Foxconn, the history of disagreements between management and workers of silver is important enough to cast doubt on the situation. Since Apple has kept a mysterious silence, surely not to tarnish their marketing efforts for the new iPhone 5 does not need another drop of bad publicity.
