Google brings the wonders of the world in ‘World Wonders Project’
Browse beautiful scenery and visit monuments that have been declared World heritage Site will be possible without leaving home: Google has introduced “World wonders Project”, a platform that brings together 1,100 pictures and videos of 132 World Heritage sites scattered throughout 18 different countries .
In a move that entry reminds me of Google Art , only this time we do not travel to museums, but natural landscapes or monuments.
The project is promoted by Google cultural Institute, in collaboration with partners such as UNESCO, the World Monuments Fund, Getty Images and Ourplace, and has a very clear goal: To break the physical barriers and provide all users the ability to enjoy the wonders of the world, as Google says in speaking of the purpose of his “World Wonders Project”:
“Google’s mission is to organize the world’s information and make it accessible and useful universally. With this project, we make available to all users world heritage sites and preserve them digitally for future generations. “
Google has used its Street View technology, through which Internet users can visit these sites of historical and cultural relevance. The contents are available on the Web World Wonder Project, where together with 3D models of Google and YouTube videos, no official information and photographs provided by the project partners.
Then I leave two videos official Google World Wonders Project (both subtitled in Spanish): The first is a sort of making off where the cameras after the project and talk about some of its officers, and the second is more “promotional” and it show some of the things that we can find on this platform.
Of course I confess that at first I was in love with this initiative, as all projects that use technology for educational and cultural. Remarkable.cultural, Google, Google World Wonders Project, heritage, scenery, wonders, World Wonders Project
