Google buys VirusTotal, the free virus scan
VirusTotal is a service that allows free Security check-files with a size no larger than 32 MB, and web addresses for viruses, and for a while they had to Google among its partners and customers. But now, the company became part of the records of the Internet giant, which paid an undisclosed amount of money by VirusTotal add to its portfolio.
From VirusTotal report that this new acquisition by Google is going to be very useful because although they have been continuously improving their services and products, the fact of being a small company with limited resources they generated some sort of complication. VirusTotal Now you can forget about these complications, and to be under the umbrella of a giant like Google will improve their pace.
On the side of Google, also have only praise for your new purchase, and hope that with the new structure of the security services continue to enhance their quality VirusTotal. Something very important is that both will continue to operate as independent brands, and indeed VirusTotal can continue working with existing companies, including other Antivirus companies.
As VirusTotal integrated in any existing Google products, it remains to be seen. Chrome and Gmail are probably leading candidate.
