Google buys Wildfire, prepares for social network advertising
Google announced today the acquisition of Wildfire, a company dedicated to help brands manage their presence on social networks like Facebook and Twitter. There was no mention of the purchase price, but rumors say it is around USD $250 million.
Wildfire will be integrated into the Advertising services that Google currently offers, such as DoubleClick and AdX exchange, and the idea would be to tell people of the companies can buy Ads in Google even when they want to appear on Facebook. “We hope to create new opportunities for our customers to contact people in all social services. We believe that better content and more fluid solutions help unlock the full potential of the web for people and businesses, “said Google.
