Google could have closed the deal to purchase Waze
Several Israeli media reports say that Google have reached an agreement to acquire the service of popular crowdsourcing service transit information, Waze. The deal would be around 1,300 million dollars, 300 million more than what was speculated at some point as maximum bid of bidders as Apple, Facebook and the browser itself.
The newspaper Globes , one of the largest in the country, said this morning that the talks were at a very advanced, and that soon will come the official confirmation of both companies. Maybe just in time to tarnish Apple ads during the keynote presentation at WWDC 2013.
One of the main reasons that Waze would have preferred the option of Google – in addition to the extra 300 million – is the option of keeping the core operating company in Israel, which is essential for the acceptance of any proposal.
Both Google and Waze declined to comment on the matter. Touch remain vigilant to see what happens in the next days.
