Since the co-founder of Google, Larry Page, took over as CEO, the company has begun to close services that already served his time, like Desktop or Google Flu Vaccine Finder, or were resounding failures as Google Wave or Google Related.

  • Google Mini, business-oriented search engine that debuted in 2005, and now its usefulness was absorbed by services like Google Search Appliance, Google Search and Google Site Search Commerce.
  • Google Talk Chatback, widget that allowed you to chat from the page of a blog and now want to replace the Meebo bar , one of his latest acquisitions.
  • Search Symbian App, the application for phones with Symbian OS, and simply recommend to replace it as a favorite or to homepage.
  • Google Video, the service was slowly replaced by YouTube after its purchase by Google, and now officially put his tombstone, for all its content will migrate from Aug. 20 to YouTube.
  • iGoogle, the customizer of the home page and will retire in November next year as Google says it met its stage as rarely close their browsers, nobody cares about the home page.
