GPU NVIDIA officially launches its Geforce GT 640 DDR3

Yesterday a review leaked to the video card factory overclocked Galaxy GT 640 , one of the first video cards based on Nvidia now officially launched geforce GT 640 DDR3.
The family of GeForce 600 Series GPUs based on the kepler architecture, has been launched in a very curious, as many will recall that the high-end desktop ( GeForce GTX 680 ) was released the same day as the low-end laptop ( Geforce GT 640M .) Today the situation is reversed, as NVIDIA officially launches high-end laptop ( GeForce GTX 680M ) and low-end desktop: the new GeForce GT 640 DDR3.
THE GeForce GT 640 is based on the core GK107, the same used on the GeForce GT 640M notebook, and has 384 ALUs (shader processors) running at 900MHz, 2GB 128-bit ddr3 memory running at 900MHz (1800MHz effective) and a TDP of 65W, so it does not require power connectors.
The suggested retail price for your new Nvidia gpu is U.S. $ 109, price that is available in several online stores like Newegg , and as discussed yesterday, puts it in direct competition against AMD Radeon HD 7750 GPU, but as we seen in a review by Tom’s Hardware, its performance does not compare to the AMD product with which it competes on price, but a product with a yield intermediate between the GPUs AMD Radeon HD 6670 and Radeon HD 5750/6750 :

According to rumors there will be two variants of this GPU: one with GDDR5 memory, and one that is actually a renamed GeForce GT 545, but whether only try to talk or if Nvidia decided to throw in the coming weeks.
