Grantley and Brickland: Future Intel server platforms

Over recent months has leaked some information dropper on future server Grantley , now we have also some information on the new platform Brickland.

The platform Grantley

The platform will target Grantley mono and dual socket servers and will consist of microprocessors based on the Core Xeon Haswell-IN (single socket platform Grantley-IN) and (dual socket platform Grantley-EP) with chipsets Wellsburg .

This platform will be the successor to the current Romley platform comprised of microprocessors Sandy Bridge-EN and Sandy Bridge EP for socket 2011 with Patsburg chipsets. Romley may be updated with future microprocessors and Ivy Bridge-EP .

The platform Brickland

The platform Brickland (Brickland-EX) is focused on mission-critical servers and octuple quadruple socket and will consist of microprocessors and C600 chipset IN their 3rd and 4th revision (code name still unknown). Ivy Bridge-EX will use socket R1 future, and this platform will be updated with future microprocessors and Broadwell-EX-EX, all of which use the new bus QPI 1.1 .

Brickland will succeed Boxboro-EX platform, composed of microprocessors Westmere-EX (Nehalem), the northbridge and southbridge ICH10 Boxboro.
