Graphics chip sales rise by 2.7%
The analyst firm Jon Peddie Research (JPR) has announced its estimates for what will be the results in terms of market sales for GPUs or graphics chip, with figures for the second quarter of this year 2012, which ended on June 30 2012.
And there is a good news, because as stated, shipments of goods elevated by 2.7% over the same period last year. Scraping the numbers, we found that Intel is currently the leader in market share, taking 62% of the total cake. AMD follows with 22.7% and then Nvidia, with 14.8%. Compared to the last year, AMD fell 2.5%, Intel rose to 2.9% and Nvidia fell by 0.36%.
As any positive numbers speaks for everyone in one way or another, for the general rise of 2.7% in the end, reveals that Intel rose by 13.6% in GPUs market for desktop PCs and in notebooks 3.8%, while Nvidia saw its sales grow 6% and AMD by 2.5% in the same category.
