HP believes that the Ultrabook will be an important part of their future sales
Although estimates and forecasts sales of ultrabook been lowered from the original numbers , some companies still have faith that the format will take off and be popular in the future. And one of those brands is HP.
According to Rajiv Srivastava, vice president of HP in India, the following years will see a rise in their Ultrabook, and that by 2014 these are almost half of the laptops they sell. “We hope that by the end of 2013, 15 to 20 percent of our sales volume will be Ultrabooks, and by the end of 2014 that percentage should be around 40 points.”
And the keys to recovery will be two, mainly: models and prices. “We will have a strong product line and with various prices, which will be a crucial factor,” says Srivastava, and this seems to be pretty accurate when input prices are the main reason Ultrabook which is blamed on expected growth in the segment.
For now, it seems that the mass of the Ultrabook is only a matter of time, even though the sales estimates for the following year are less than the original. But as more manufacturers join the efforts of mass model, faster could change the balance.
