IFA 2012: HP introduced the Envy x2 hybrid and two new touchscreen ultrabooks
The team consists of a 11.6-inch tablet, which comes with a keyboard that can be connected. Not a very original design, but HP added some things that might make it worthwhile, as aluminum cover, NFC chip, support for a stylus, Beats audio, and a 400-nit IPS display with resolution of 1366 x 768.
The tablet is about 8.5 mm thick, weighs 680 grams, while the keyboard weighs 720 grams. To connect with each other, HP use a system that combines mechanical grips magnetic to prevent the keyboard screen takeoff accident.
The team will run with Clover Trail Atom processor and comes with 64 GB of storage. Includes 2 USB ports, one HDMI, an SD card slot and an 8-megapixel rear camera. HP has not given details on the battery, or when it goes on sale or at what price.
The company also updated its Windows 8 ultrabooks preparing for presenting the TouchSmart XT class Spectre “premium” priced starting at $ 1,400. This is a 15.6-inch machine with multitouch screen and glass covering the entire surface. The device is covered in metal and is 1.7 cm thick, weighing 2.1 kg.
The Spectre TouchSmart XT includes a port Thunderbolt from Intel, the first team to make this addition HP, which can transfer music, photos, movies and other files at high speed (as long as you have equipment compatible with this port) . In addition there is an entry Ethernet, USB 3.0 and HDMI port. Will be available in December in the U.S. later in the rest of the world.
The company also introduced the Envy Ultrabook TouchSmart 4, with a 14-inch touch screen and backlit keyboard. It comes with Intel’s Ivy Bridge processors and optional AMD graphics card of 2 GB. Includes Beats Audio and promises up to 8 hours of battery life.
The company did not disclose the price of the latter team and said that will be available for the holidays this year.
