In Britain, digital music revenue is greater than the physical format

Britain is a reference as is concerned and not just because historical groups of various kinds are there but also because it is an important country in terms of consumption and trends.

So that the note of this post has an international relevencia in terms of market behavior is concerned. Since, for the first time ever, gains in the music industry are greater than the Physical format. In other words, there was more money to buy / rent content online that sales.

In the period from January to April 2012, the music industry in Britain was £ 155.8 million, being 55% by digital gains (downloads, subscriptions or streaming).

In fact the gains in overall music industry in Britain rose by 2.7%. Digital formats increased their sales by 23.6% while the physical formats (CDs) fell 15.1%.

A historic moment indeed demonstrates how music consumption is changing.
