In its first weekend Windows 8 outsold Windows 7
Just three days have passed since the official launch of the new operating system Microsoft Windows 8 (today launched Windows Phone 8 ), and apparently his first weekend has been very positive in terms of sales.
Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, announced that Windows 8 is being sold at a higher rate than Windows 7 in these early days since its release, beating (so far) expectations with a higher demand than anticipated, a fact undoubtedly rewarding (for Microsoft).
These statements undoubtedly contradict the polls and the perception that many users have on this operating system.
The relatively low price coupled with great advertising campaign Microsoft may have influenced this good initial result. Time will tell if Windows 8 gets equal the success of Windows 7, which sold over 670 million licenses in its first three years.
