In Peru created the largest solar plant in Latin America

The company Yingli Green announced it will provide 40 MW of PV modules for the creation of a new power plant that will become the largest in Latin America.

The project will be built in two different locations in Peru, 20MW are Moquegua region and cover a total of 213 hectares while others are installed in Tacna 20MW and will occupy only 120 acres. Upon completion of the plant construction, that of more size south of the American continent, will be able to generate power for some 67,000 homes and reduce CO2 emissions by 24,000 tons a year.

“We are pleased to have achieved this important brand in Latin America,” commented Mr. Liansheng Miao, Yingli Green Energy CEO, adding: “Peru is one of the most important emerging markets in Latin America given its huge potential for solar energy. By providing modules for this project and participate as sponsors of the Brazil 2014 World Cup, we are paving the way for a substantial expansion through the South American continent. “
