Increased by 50% using Skype over the previous quarter
Despite the losses announced yesterday by Microsoft (a somewhat misleading figure), the Redmond company was able to announce that using skype last quarter increased by 50% over the previous quarter, equivalent in total to 115 billion minutes calls via this service.
This good news for the VoIP service, which Microsoft bought last year at U.S. $8,500 million, in addition to the announcement on Monday that Office 15 will integrate the Skype service to make calls directly from within applications suite, which will likely launch later this year.
While Microsoft did not say in these figures correspond few minutes paid service, however is a figure that is projected to increase substantially when integrating the Office Outlook 15 as a complementary service when sending mail within an office .
