India: Anonymous attack websites
For several days the group known as Anonymous has been attacking several government sites in India, now the latest targets were the websites of the supreme court and two political parties.
These attacks were perpetrated as a form of compensation to the measures imposed by the government against certain torrent sites, particularly The Pirate Bay. A new order in that country requires Internet providers to block such sites argued that Bollywood movies are downloaded illegally.
Besides the sites mentioned, was also attacked the website of the company behind pushing this anti pirate blockade against Vimeo, Daily Motion and The Pirate Bay.
The attacks have been partially successful, is that despite having achieved overwhelm servers, sites were only down for a small period of time. It is hoped that this will continue against what many consider to be Internet censorship.
