Instagram chief designer is to Dropbox
After several years of maintaining a sober, dropbox could have a redesign that become much more pleasing to the eye. This thanks to Tim Van Damme, chief designer of Instagram , will join the ranks of Dropbox from August.
Van Damme announced on his blog that will leave Facebook this Friday. The interface designer worked for 18 months in Gowalla, a social network that tried to compete with Foursquare and which later was acquired and killed by Facebook. After the acquisition, Van Damme decided to take the position of chief designer Instagram.
The arrival of Van Damme would fall like a glove to Dropbox, who recently announced that reinvent as a platform for applications. The company would give a boost to its storage service and file synchronization to implement new plugins. Van Damme could play a vital role in the development of new applications.
