Instagram now has video
Facebook special event held today at its central headquarters in Silicon Valley to present – as expected – Instagram Video, which lets you share short videos through this platform, in an attempt to compete with Twitter Vine .

The system works by displaying an icon to capture video at the bottom of the application, which when pressed allows you to record up to 15 seconds of video. You can delete parts of the video and re-record, so that the clip is as you like. Once it is all as you make it, press the “Next” button to move to a screen where you can choose from 13 filters to add to your video.
The videos are posted on the “feed” of Instagram, interspersed with photos. It looks almost the same as always, only now the pictures move. The video plays once, and not infinitely as with Vine. The video capture function to reach iOS and Android at the same time.
Systrom said during the presentation that is currently 16.000 million photos shared on the service, and that 130 million people use it every day.
