Intel Atom vs ARM Cortex-A9 and Cortex-A8 1GHz Duel
From Phoronix comes a curious yet interesting review where they face the intel atom n450 microprocessor soc and arm Cortex-A9 and Cortex-A8, all underclockeados overclocked or (as applicable) at 1GHz; comparative offers insight cycle performance for these various architectures in a wide variety of test.
The tests were performed under the operating system Gentoo on both 32 and 64 bits (the latter tested in the Atom CPU, because the ARM SoC tested do not support 64-bit), and using the Phoronix Test Suite implementation. Here some of the test:
