Intel is reportedly close to the efficiency of ARM, as Bernstein Research study
It has always been maintained that one of the weaknesses of intel versus arm is in reduced efficiency of the former compared to the latter. But according to a new study, Intel would be close to reaching the same level of performance of its competitor.
The study was conducted by the firm Bernstein Research, and it suggests that new mobile chips for low-cost laptops are close Tando processing power as in the section on energy efficiency. In the same way, and thanks to this, it is anticipated that the fight between the two will be very turned on during the year 2013, leaving “damage in both trenches and without a clear winner.”
Even so, Bernstein also believe that Intel will not be able to create a big impact in the mobile segment over the next few years, even with their newer chips, this, mainly because the advantage of ARM today is too broad. Furthermore, ARM will gradually positioning and becoming a valid alternative for manufacturers who want to make the sale of low-cost notebooks.
The upcoming CES in January is a good time to see what they’re up to the two companies, especially on the side of the mobile.
