Intel readies a new Core i7-3980X?
In November last year intel launched its platform Waimea Bay microprocessors made by Intel core i7-3900 and 3800 Series “Sandy Bridge-E” along with X79 chipsets “Patsburg” epitomized by the Intel Core i7-3960X .
The Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 3960X is the current exponent of Intel, but according reveals Arctic, known manufacturer of cooling systems for microprocessors and graphics cards, on the Core i7 CPU-3960X as the top end of Intel may be about to end, as detailed on its website a new microprocessor called the Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 3980X.
Although Arctic does not reveal any of the specifications of future Intel Core i7 microprocessor-3980X Extreme Edition, we assume that like the current Core i7-3960X will have 6 cores (or maybe 8 Dreaming is free!) But operating at higher frequencies to 3.3GHz.
