Intel readies new Atom Z2000 running at 1GHz
From mydrivers report that intel is preparing a new member to its family of SoCs Medfield (Atom-based micro-architecture to 32nm Saltwell) which will be launched under the brand name atom Z2000 and will focus on economic smartphones.
The new soc Atom Z2000, like other Medfield Atom chips, will consist of a core x86, but running at a frequency of 1GHz (HyperThreading technology has not so only one thread can execute processing), this low frequency operation pales before the recently tested a 2.0GHz Atom Z2460 , but must offer lower consumption and greater autonomy.
It is still unknown which smartphones will be based on this future chip Intel low price.
