Intel says it will continue to manufacture CPUs with socket

A few weeks ago circulated the rumor of a possible approach to the SoC Intel x86, which would produce interchangeable CPUs , rumor that a few days gained momentum due to some comments Ian Yang, president of Intel China , where he mentioned that from future microprocessors based on micro-architecture Broadwell, would focus on the x86 soc BGA contacts.

This news caused great concern especially among desktop users, which are used to customize their computers, making improvements on their own, a situation that was exploited by rival AMD to proclaim their commitment to interchangeable CPUs .

Given the flurry of users to future SoC not interchangeable, also reassures us stating their commitment to CPU, confirming that at least for the foreseeable future, will continue to manufacture microprocessors focused desktop users, but by the time can not reveal their calendar of upcoming products.

Finally, although it may be true that in the future will focus on Intel x86 SoC BGA contacts, it does not mean he will leave the CPUs interchangeable, since both product lines could live for a while but focused on different types of users.
