Intel Xeon microprocessors Based prepares Haswell-DT

The announcement of the APU AMD FirePro Series A300 Trinity kernel based, has shaken the market for economic workstations because they promise high performance , surpassing in many respects to current microprocessors Xeon E3 Series .

AMD’s foray in this market seems to have reacted to that Intel readies new versions of its E3 Series microprocessors, which are likely to be released between April and June next year under the brand name Xeon E3 V3 Series, and will Haswell based core-DT, i.e., the same used for future core Core siblings 4 th generation desktop LGA 1150.

Among the most salient features of these new Xeon E3 Series V3 integrated graphics have GT3 , fourth level cache ” L4 “known by its code name Crystallwell , responsible for accelerating the IGP graphics operations.

But of all the new features of future Xeon E3 Series V3 the most important is its memory controller ECC, which for the first time will be in the line of microprocessors for economic workstations Intel (Xeon E3 Series based on Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge-DT-DT do not support ECC), and allowed to run mission-critical tasks, which can not afford the slightest mistake in the calculations.

It is noteworthy that Intel traditionally reserves the ecc support for their high-end lines (sockets LGA 1366 and 2011), so this will undoubtedly be a welcome feature for many users who want to run these applications, but do not have the budget to invest in an expensive LGA 2011-based computer.
