Italian court orders blocking KiackAss Torrents
Continue legal action against torrent sites around the world and now the people affected was KiackAss Torrents, that is to be blocked in Italy.
According to a report by the Guardia di Finanza that can be translated as “financial police” (belonging to Ministry of Economy and Finance), has issued an order to all Internet service providers block the site.
This is the third time something similar happens in this country after being ordered similar action against The Pirate Bay in 2008 and the former Btjunkie earlier this year.
Estimates by the Italian government, kickass generates about U.S. $ 8.5 million in advertising a year, and constitutes a criminal organization that makes money off the labor of others.
One detail that is in the air here is that, the report indicates that the action would be against kickasstorrets.com domain that was abandoned in 2011. Currently the domain is using kat.ph , so I do not know what will happen in the coming days.
Maybe a milestone for the Ministry of Economy and Finance but a sad day for the Italians and in general for internet users, but does not affect us, we know that such actions are internet censorship.
