James Cameron accuses the industry of 3D misuse

James Cameron accuses the industry of 3D misuse

The award-winning director believes that the studios are forcing the use of technology by managers to achieve higher profits, causing it not being used in the right way.

“One thing is shooting in 3D and quite another to convert to 3D,” said the director of Avatar last week forum, lectures on art, design and technology. “Studies are just trying to make money, pressuring directors to use the 3D, but do not feel comfortable working with this technology, or simply do not like, “he said.

He further stated that films like Man Of Steel and Iron Man 3 should not necessarily be in 3D, explaining that when there is an expenditure of $ 150 million in visual effects, it is because a film should be spectacular.

These questions arise just as the fascination with 3D seems to have declined in recent years , as the studies have chosen to add the effect of post-production, leaving to film in this format, as Cameron did with Avatar. Still, the format is still very popular in the rest of the world seats.
