Leaked details of future Intel chipsets 9 Series for Broadwell

According to the roadmap of Intel micro-architecture , are expected to make appearances next year the first microprocessors based on the Haswell microarchitecture , which will be followed in 2014 by future microprocessors based on micro-architecture Broadwell .

In recent weeks has leaked information 8 series chipsets Intel Haswell known by its code name Lynx Point , and from SemiAccurate we get the first details of the chipsets 9 Series for Broadwell, and the first details are that Intel does not plan develop new chipsets for Haswell successor.

Apparently Intel plans to keep its 8 Series chipsets “Lynx Point” for future microprocessors based on the Haswell microarchitecture, since given the changes to the architecture Haswell (which are kept in Broadwell), many of the functions that were present on chipsets, will be integrated into the microprocessor, which greatly simplifies the design of the chipset, so there would be no reason to upgrade.

The chipsets maintain virtually unchanged, does not mean they do not throw their Intel chipsets 9 Series, because in reality these are the same 8 series chipsets, with some slight internal adjustments (enable / disable features already present and perhaps frequency slightly higher performance) that is similar to what was done by AMD with its A85X (which is practically the same A75) or Intel’s own chipsets with its 7 Series “Panther Point” (virtually unchanged relative to chipsets 6 Series “Cougar Point”).
